Inspiring a passion for science, nature and cultural experiences is a shared priority for the Douglas County Educational Foundation (DCEF) and The Wildlife Experience.  As long time community partners, the collaboration demonstrates the mutual dedication to providing lifelong learning opportunities for the next generation of leaders.

In August 2011, the partnership grew and The Wildlife Experience was awarded a DCEF grant covering the cost of field trips and outreach for many students.  The grant allows The Wildlife Experience to continue to offer rich educational programs designed to instill respect for habitat and wildlife and inspire efforts to conserve within the students and the community. “The Foundation is excited to build a long lasting relationship with The Wildlife Experience,” explains DCEF Executive Director, Sean McGraw.  “The Wildlife Experience mission and education standards provide a lifelong learning experience that peaks the students interest in wildlife, biology and nature.”

School programs at The Wildlife Experience enhance classroom activities with the variety of educational resources. From guided school tours to the hands-on discovery in Globeology, The Wildlife Experience has plenty to supplement any curriculum. Programs focus on life sciences, supporting the student learning goals for all Douglas County School District students.  With a variety of topics and changing exhibits, teachers and students embark on a new learning experience every time they visit.

“We are pleased to have DCEF as a community partner,” says Jessy Clark, Director of Programs at The Wildlife Experience.  “We are proud to work with an organization that supports over 80 schools in our backyard to build common curriculum and experiences that benefit all Douglas County School District students.”
